‘CS:GO’ Paris Major Stickers And Pick’Em Finally Released

Jul 15, 2023

The last CS:GO Major is about to start.

With less than a week to go before the Paris CS:GO Major starts, developer Valve has finally released the in-game stickers and Pick’Em challenge for the tournament.

While Valve is no stranger to cutting it close, this is up there with the latest that stickers have been released prior to a Major. However, with excitement around the last ever CS:GO Major higher than most tournaments, this likely won't have much of an impact on sales.

Every player at the Major, as well as every team, has their own in-game sticker, a cosmetic item that displays a player's signature and team logo which can be placed onto a weapon skin in game. With different rarities and no guarantee of which sticker you will get, finding the sticker of the player you want is usually best done through the second hand Steam marketplace, and of course Valve also takes a cut of each of these sales as well, making it a very profitable enterprise for, players, teams and Valve.

Alongside the stickers comes the Viewer Pass for the Paris Major and the Pick’Em challenge, where CS:GO players can try to predict the correct results at the Major in order to earn better rewards. Out of the thousands of people who participate in the Pick’Em challenge it's usually only a handful, if any at all, that manage to predict the entire event correctly and secure the highest rarity prize.

The BLAST Paris Major is set to kick off on May 8 with the Challengers Stage, from there eight teams will join the eight teams that directly qualified in the Legends stage, before the final eight teams then compete at the Champions stage in front of a massive live crowd at the Accor Arena in Paris. After a very unexpected final between winners Outsiders and Heroic at the last Major, predicting who will walk away as champions is harder than ever, which should make for a very entertaining competition.

With the launch of Counter-Strike 2 on the horizon and the Limited Test picking up steam, this will be the last CS:GO Major. After the tournament ends the next Major will take place on CS2 in 2024, meaning that this year will feature just one Major instead of the usual two. However, the extended gap between Majors will likely be filled by more third party tournaments, especially when CS2 launches and both pros and fans will want to get some experience with the game before playing in the highest stakes tournaments.
