State police warn drivers about fading inspection sticker

Louisiana State Police are alerting drivers about a fading defect in the motor vehicle inspection stickers issued for 2026.

If your inspection sticker expires in 26', you'll notice it has a yellow square background.

Due to sun exposure, the sticker might fade from yellow to clear or white.

State Police says, despite fading, those stickers are still valid and do not need to be replaced.

As of now, we're told the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicle is aware of the problem and is working to replace the stickers that have not been handed out yet.
